Reviving Renaissance in Modern Design: The Florence Collection

Anna Strupinskaya and Anastasia Kokoreva's Award-Winning Wiring Accessories Line

Anna Strupinskaya and Anastasia Kokoreva, in collaboration with Sergey Korotkov, have crafted an innovative line of wiring accessories, inspired by the Renaissance epoch. The Florence collection, a harmonious blend of classic proportions and modern design, has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award.

The Florence collection is a testament to the enduring influence of Renaissance masterpieces on contemporary design. The designers drew inspiration from the architectural genius of Brunelleschi, whose dome for the Santa Maria del Fiore cathedral is a symbol of the Renaissance epoch. Strupinskaya and Kokoreva sought to emulate the harmony of classic proportions found in these masterpieces, infusing them with modern design and technology.

The collection, composed of switches, sockets, frames, and dimmers, is characterized by its ideal proportions, original shape, and gorgeous matte surface. Made from polycarbonate plastic (PC), the line is available in four colors – white, beige, grey, and black. This matte finish, coupled with the color variety, offers an enhanced user experience and a plethora of design combinations.

Despite its sophisticated aesthetic, the Florence collection was designed with practicality in mind. The range includes a variety of sockets and switches, from earthed sockets with protective shutters and screw contacts to dimmers for glow and halogen lamps. This variety ensures that the collection can cater to a wide range of wiring needs.

Creating the Florence collection was not without its challenges. The designers aimed to create a line that looked more expensive than its low-cost market segment, a task that required careful consideration of materials and production costs. Despite these constraints, Strupinskaya and Kokoreva succeeded in creating a collection that stands out from existing designs in its segment.

The Florence collection is a perfect example of how historical inspiration can be seamlessly integrated into modern design. It is a tribute to the art of engineering and design, proving that they can indeed conceive absolute masterpieces, just as Brunelleschi demonstrated with his famous dome. This innovative approach to design earned the collection the Silver A' Design Award in 2017, a testament to its creativity and professional excellence.

The intellectual property rights for the Florence collection belong to Anna Strupinskaya and Anastasia Kokoreva, with all images credited to Strupinskaya, Kokoreva, and Sergey Korotkov. The collection, a perfect blend of past and present, is a testament to the timeless appeal of the Renaissance epoch and the endless possibilities of modern design.
