Savour Barber’s Shop: A Unique Blend of Art and Technology

Exploring Donglei Wang's Award-Winning Design

In the realm of design, where art meets technology, Savour Barber’s Shop stands as a testament to the power of innovative thinking. Crafted by Donglei Wang and his team, this unique space redefines the concept of fashion and hairstyling.

Donglei Wang's inspiration for Savour Barber’s Shop is deeply rooted in the philosophy that "Kung Fu is a practice in the poem." This artistic approach to design is reflected in the shop's minimalist aesthetic, inspired by the work of sculptor Richard Serra. The curved lines in the operating area are a nod to Serra's minimalist style, demonstrating how art can seamlessly blend with functional design.

What sets Savour Barber’s Shop apart from other hairstyling spaces is its unique interpretation of fashion. In today's world, fashion has countless definitions, but Wang and his team believe that true fashion begins with individual personality. The shop is designed to be unusual, unique, and impressive, embodying the spirit of trendsetting rather than following the masses.

The shop's realization is a blend of various materials including baking finish plate, wood finishing, white jade, black steel, and artistic glass. Covering an area of 1,200 square meters, the shop is a spacious and stylish haven for those seeking a unique hairstyling experience.

The project, located in Dongguan, Guangdong, was completed in 2015. The design team, including Jiang Xiaolin, Min Yao, Qu Yunlong, and Wang Donglei, worked meticulously to bring this innovative concept to life. The shop's design is a testament to their collective creativity and technical expertise.

For its outstanding design, Savour Barber’s Shop was awarded the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2017. This prestigious accolade is given to designs that demonstrate remarkable creativity, technical excellence, and innovation. The award is a testament to the shop's unique blend of art and technology, and its ability to redefine the concept of fashion and hairstyling.
