Beijing's Nord Villa: A Fusion of History and Modern Aesthetics

The Nord Villa is more than just a sales center. It is a cultural landmark in Beijing, a city rich in history. Ricky Wong Designers (RWD) followed the historical traces of this ancient city, blending them with contemporary aesthetics and in-depth life needs. Through the cultural lens, RWD managed to bring modern art and nature together, creating a space that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

The design of Nord Villa is characterized by its solemn and calm atmosphere. This is achieved through the use of high-rise shelves, grey marble floors, and dark wood furniture. The white walls are adorned with Chinese mountain-water paintings, adding an oriental touch to the overall design. Interestingly, the bookshelves in the discussion area obscure the sales center's primary purpose, creating a more relaxed and welcoming environment.

One of the unique features of Nord Villa is the dimensional spaciousness created by a variety of metal lines. This design element was inspired by the aesthetics of the Song Dynasty, a period known for its cultural and artistic achievements. The use of rounded chandeliers and bookshelves further softens the overall visual effect, creating a balance between the solemnity of the space and the comfort it provides.

The realization of Nord Villa's design was made possible through the use of various materials such as marble, metal, leather, wallpaper, and wood veneer. The project, which started in November 2018 and finished in July 2019, covers an area of 1290 square meters. The design was recognized for its strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, earning it the Silver A' Design Award in 2021.
