Sunshine Villa: A Natural Oasis in the City

Creating a Sunny and Natural Living Environment

The young couple behind Sunshine Villa desired a living space that seamlessly blended with nature and embraced the warmth of sunlight. Renowned designer Yanlai Xiao took on the challenge of unifying the villa's interior and exterior, resulting in a stunning residence that integrates the garden and living room, creating a natural oasis in the heart of the city.

One of the standout features of Sunshine Villa is the meticulous reconstruction of the original architectural space. By strategically relocating the staircase, the interior layout was optimized, overcoming the limitations of the street-facing structure. This transformation not only enhanced the overall value of the villa but also improved the functionality of the living spaces.

The design of Sunshine Villa prioritizes the integration of the natural environment with the privacy and comfort of its occupants. The interior space planning was carefully executed to minimize the impact of the outdoor surroundings, ensuring a serene and tranquil living experience. The use of soundproof glass along the staircase and large floor-to-ceiling glass doors in the living room maximizes natural lighting, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere.

What sets Sunshine Villa apart is the seamless connection between the living room and the garden. Multiple access points allow for a harmonious interaction between the indoor and outdoor spaces. Some living room functions even spill into the garden, blurring the boundaries and creating a truly immersive experience. This unified planning creates a living environment that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also promotes a healthier and closer connection to nature.

The interior area of Sunshine Villa spans 300 square meters, while the garden covers 261 square meters. With three floors in total, the villa offers ample space for the couple to enjoy their natural sanctuary. The project, which began in February 2018, was completed in September of the same year. Sunshine Villa is located in the Country Garden Community, Enshi City, Hubei Province, China.

The challenges faced during the design process were primarily centered around the street-facing architecture. The noisy outdoor environment posed privacy and comfort concerns for the occupants. However, by creatively reimagining the interior layout and relocating the staircase, the designer successfully addressed these challenges, resulting in a space that not only overcame the limitations but also enhanced the overall value of the villa.

Sunshine Villa is a testament to the power of design in creating a harmonious living environment. By seamlessly integrating the natural surroundings with the interior spaces, Yanlai Xiao has crafted a residence that offers a sunny and natural retreat in the heart of the city.
