One House: A Unique Residential Design

The inspiration for One House came from the desire to create a space that combines calmness and a touch of eccentricity. The wire with plaster wall is cleverly concealed behind the client's collections, while also weaving into the deliberately exposed RC beam and wooden-dock like ceiling. This juxtaposition creates a visually striking atmosphere, enriching the uniqueness of the space.

What sets One House apart is the use of common industrial elements as design materials. Powder coated iron, recycled wood, colored ply, lotos, and metal mesh are skillfully combined to define the interior space. Each material displays its individual characteristics, contributing to the overall aesthetic of the design.

The realization of One House involved the use of various technologies and techniques. Powder coated iron, recycled wood, colored ply, and lotos were utilized to bring the design to life. The result is a harmonious blend of materials and textures that create a visually captivating environment.

The project, located in New Taipei City, began in October 2016 and was completed in January 2017. Throughout the design process, Chen Yin Architect Association aimed to create a space that not only reflects the client's personality but also pushes the boundaries of traditional residential design.

One House has been recognized for its outstanding design and creativity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2017. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that demonstrate technical and creative excellence, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
