Hunni: The Functional Funnel Revolutionizing Liquid Flow

Introducing Süha Süzen's Innovative Design

Bubbles emerging during the liquid flow through current conventional funnels are an inspiration to the design. In order to remove these bubbles, the air in the container, taking the liquid in, should be discharged in a controlled manner. Generally, we need to lift the funnel up from the container bimanually. Triangle form of the design has various air release gaps which eliminates the need to do mentioned actions. Two different operations are applied to drain and fill for some processed juices.

Hunni is a revolutionary funnel designed by Süha Süzen that aims to streamline the flow of liquids. Its unique triangle shape allows for efficient air flow through gaps in the circular borders, resulting in a constant and fast flow. Unlike traditional funnels, Hunni's parts can be interlocked when not in use, saving space and making it easy to store. The rise on the hopper bottom ensures a clean pour by supporting the mouth of the container from which the liquid is poured. Additionally, Hunni features an embedded moving filter that effectively separates particles while draining the liquid.

The production of Hunni involves three fundamental parts, which are best realized through the plastic injection method. The recommended material for production is PP, a safe and durable material commonly used for kitchen tools. The design allows for easy cutting of the parts from a pattern.

When packaged, Hunni comes disassembled in a flat box measuring approximately 130 x 120 x 70 mm. Users can easily attach the parts to make the product ready for use. During usage, the dimensions of Hunni are approximately 130 x 120 x 128 mm.

Using Hunni is a breeze. The three fundamental parts are easily attached, and the funnel is balanced on three points onto the bottle. The gaps between the bottle and the funnel allow for safe and constant filling, as air is released. If needed, the embedded filter can be used to drain liquids and separate particles.

The design process for Hunni took place in Turkey in 2016, and the design is currently undergoing the registration process. Prototypes were produced in Konya in December 2016. The underlying research for this design focused on improving the filling process by regulating air flow and providing constant filling with one hand. The size and functionality of Hunni also contribute to its transportation and packing advantages. The design successfully solves various problems that may arise during the filling operation, thanks to its simple and practical design.

Hunni has garnered recognition for its innovative design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2017 in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware, and Cookware Design category. This award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. Hunni's integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics make it a valuable addition to the world of kitchenware.

With its functional and aesthetically pleasing design, Hunni is set to revolutionize the way we pour liquids. Say goodbye to messy spills and hello to a seamless pouring experience.
