Impression Nanxi River: A Masterpiece of Multifunctional Design

Unveiling Ting Wang's Award-Winning Architectural Design

Immerse yourself in the world of Impression Nanxi River, a multifunctional hall that seamlessly blends local culture, modern architecture, and sustainability. This architectural marvel, designed by Ting Wang, is a testament to the power of innovative design and thoughtful integration with the natural environment.

Impression Nanxi River is a unique project that stands out due to its harmonious blend of environmental planning, architectural design, and interior design. The project is deeply rooted in local culture, with both its interior and exterior reflecting the distinct regional features and humanistic spirits of Yongjia county, Zhejiang province of China. The design aims to provide a unique physical and mental experience to every visitor, with its superior landscape garden environment.

The project's uniqueness lies in its integration of local traditions and natural environment elements with modern architecture. This combination brings out the cultural connotations and provides a sense of returning to nature. Moreover, the design considers sustainability, making it a forward-thinking project that will continue to be relevant in the future.

The realization of this design involved the use of various construction materials, including steel, Low-e glass curtain wall, aluminum veneer, optical fiber, stainless steel, multilayer veneer, Chinese black granite, and homogeneous tile. The project covers a total construction area of 1300 square meters, with the main building height ranging from 6110mm to 8100mm.

The multifunctional hall is designed to serve various purposes, including banquets, meetings, news releases, and salons. It is located in the Yuanye Garden, surrounded by rich campus green plants. The three sides of the French sash wall seamlessly synergize with the indoor surroundings, providing a beautiful landscape view. However, the design of thermal insulation and indoor acoustic control presented challenges due to the multifunctional nature of the hall. These challenges were overcome through professional coordination and computational correction.

The design process started in March 2016 and was completed in October 2016. The project is a basic architectural outline that absorbs the impression of abstraction from the traditional residential form of the local Nanxi River basin. The design team, led by Ting Wang, included Zhang Kewei, Wu Yan, Deng Mingdong, Lin Shu, Wang Min, Li Bingren, and Xu Ninglong.

The project was awarded Platinum in A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award in 2018. The award recognizes world-class, exceptional, and highly innovative designs that showcase unmatched professionalism, contribute to societal wellbeing, and advance the boundaries of art, science, design, and technology.
