Tiden, which means "the time" in Scandinavia, is a Swiss Made watch brand with its origin in Norway. The design of the watch is minimalistic yet filled with intricate details. One of the standout features is the square crown, which adds a touch of uniqueness to the overall design. The curved sapphire glass and the visible quartz movement on the back further enhance the watch's appeal.
Despite its straight and clean lines, the Tiden watch maintains a sense of great symmetry. The watch is round and smooth, providing a pleasing aesthetic. The case is made of 316L stainless steel and features inverted dome sapphire crystal glass. The case back, also made of sapphire crystal glass, showcases the gold plated quartz movement. The case back is secured with six titanium screws, adding to the watch's durability and elegance.
The dial of the Tiden watch is made of carbon fiber with a matte finish, adding a touch of modernity to the design. The watch band is crafted from Italian vulcanized natural rubber, providing both comfort and style.
Technical specifications of the Tiden watch include a case diameter of 40 mm and a case thickness of 10 mm. The crown measures 5*2 mm, and the watch has a lug to lug measurement of 46 mm. The distance between the lugs is 20 mm, and the watch band width is also 20 mm.
Operating the Tiden watch is simple and intuitive. The crown needs to be pulled out to set the correct time, and once adjusted, it can be pushed down to start the watch ticking.
The Tiden watch was designed in Norway, and the project involved extensive research. Designer Albert Berisha utilized various sources such as Google, YouTube, Facebook, magazines, forums, and blogs to gather inspiration and knowledge.
One of the main challenges faced during the design process was effectively communicating and conveying the ideas to the watch manufacturer. However, through perseverance and determination, the vision for the Tiden watch was successfully realized.
The Tiden watch is a testament to the designer's commitment to creating a timepiece that stands out in a saturated market. With its unique combination of materials and details, this watch is a true reflection of creativity and craftsmanship.
The Tiden watch has been recognized for its excellence and innovation, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design category in 2018. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to quality of life improvements and making the world a better place.
