EP RESTAURANT

A Blend of Nature and Architecture

The EP Restaurant design proposal by A3 Vision aims to create a space that seamlessly integrates nature and architecture, allowing for a unique dining experience.

The core philosophy behind this design is to explore the elements of space design and break boundaries, blurring the line between indoor and outdoor spaces. The goal is to create a space where people can have more interactions with the external natural environment and achieve an organic combination.

One of the standout features of the EP Restaurant is the way the boundaries between the interior and exterior become blurred when the doors are opened entirely. The outdoor garden plants and trees become a part of the interior, creating a harmonious blend of nature and architecture. This progressive form of indoor and outdoor natural courtyard space adds a sense of tranquility and connection to the surroundings.

The realization of this design is achieved through the use of terrazzo and wood materials. These materials not only add a touch of elegance and warmth to the space but also contribute to the overall aesthetic of the restaurant.

With a total area of 300 square meters, the EP Restaurant offers ample space for diners to enjoy their meals in a serene and inviting atmosphere. The design team, consisting of Zhifeng Wang, Jin Fan, Hongtian Nan, and Chao Liu, worked together to bring this vision to life.

The EP Restaurant underwent a transformation from a two-floor white modern building. The first floor was upgraded to create an indoor coffee zone, while the existing function of the second floor was retained. The spatial layout was rearranged to accommodate the number of diners and their functional needs. The addition of an open terrace on the second floor provides an outdoor dining option.

The design team took great care to ensure that the new addition did not compromise the integrity of the original building. The new structure, made of a steel framework, features a transparent glass partition on the south side and an opening/closing glass door on the west side facing the river. The roof was designed to be light and transparent, minimizing its thickness.

One of the main challenges faced during the project was to hide as much equipment as possible, such as lighting lamps and survey equipment, to maintain a light and uncluttered appearance.

The EP Restaurant design project started in September 2016 and was completed in March 2017 in Jiaxing, China. The restaurant officially opened its doors in April 2017, welcoming guests to experience the harmonious blend of nature and architecture.

This exceptional design was recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in 2018 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The EP Restaurant stood out for its integration of industry best practices, competent technical characteristics, and its contribution to creating a better world.
