The M1 Collection stands out for its unique properties. Each piece incorporates mechanical moving elements, from rotating gears in rings to spring mechanisms in crab rings. Notably, the dimensionless ring's gear allows for size adjustments, while the ring with a crystal features a mechanism for easy stone replacement. The bracelet's size is also adjustable, thanks to side screws and nuts.
Anokhina's innovative design was realized using silver with gold plating, adorned with inlays of sapphires, rock crystal, and labradorite. The rings measure approximately 25*30*30 mm, while the bracelet is 70*70*35 mm. The collection's mechanical theme is reflected in its design tags, which include 'mechanic', 'mechanism', 'jewelry', 'dimensionless', 'ring', and 'moving'.
The M1 Collection is not just visually appealing, but also interactive. For instance, the ring with a crystal features a mechanism that allows for easy stone replacement. Another ring, made up of several movable parts, can have its size adjusted by rotating the outer large gear. The bracelet's size can also be adjusted by twisting the nuts on the large screws.
The collection was created during Anokhina's first year of studying at the British Higher School of Art and Design in Moscow, Russia, starting in 2017. The designer's research involved analyzing various types of mechanisms and fasteners to select the most suitable shape and moving technique for each piece of the collection. This meticulous process involved visiting numerous hardware stores and ironmonger's shops for inspiration and prototypes.
The M1 Collection has been recognized for its innovative design, winning the Golden A' Jewelry, Eyewear and Watch Design Award in 2018. This prestigious award is granted to outstanding creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom, advance art, science, design, and technology, and significantly impact the world with their desirable characteristics.
