Le Le Book House: A Cultural Salon Beyond a Bookstore

Ching-Ping Chang's Award-Winning Design Fuses Literature, Design, and Community

Le Le Book House, designed by Ching-Ping Chang, is more than a bookstore. It is a cultural salon where people share great books, design, and moments with friends. This award-winning interior design project, completed in 2017, brings the concept of sharing design to reality, creating a space that diffuses the air of modern poetry and coffee. The design is unique, with natural and leisured ideas bringing knowing smiles to visitors.

Located in Taichung City, Taiwan, the Le Le Book House covers a space of 595 square meters. The exterior and indoor cabinets are elegantly designed with fair-faced concretes, creating a lively atmosphere filled with humanity and greenery. The magnificent tree shades not only cover the building but also symbolize the transmission of knowledge. The decoration of cultures dates back to history, identifying humanity. The exquisite classic furniture casually becomes a great vista in the store.

The bookstore collects books regarding design and life. The design of Le Le Book House is unique, with the atmosphere of lively humanity and greenery plants spreading around the building. The magnificent tree shades cover not only the building but also the transmission of knowledge. The decoration of cultures dates back to history, identifying humanity. The exquisite classic furniture casually becomes a great vista in the store.

Walking under the shades, passing by the show windows, visitors can enjoy a spontaneous lifestyle that is seriously considered in the design. Reading books, basking in the sun, thinking, smiling, or reveling pleasantly, the design encourages a relaxed and joyful experience. The daylight sprinkling through the glass does not belong exclusively to the hipsters but sets off the design written by the natural-style poetry.

Le Le Book House opened in the end spring of 2017, making reading Shakespeare cheerful and attracting fashionable girls wearing pearl earrings. It shares with people the joyous experiences at Le Le. The design faced creative, technical, and research challenges but overcame them to create a space that symbolizes a cultural salon.

The Le Le Book House was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2018. The award is rewarded to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
