The Half Donut was inspired by the desire to create a product that is light, portable, and can be placed anywhere without feeling out of place. The design team used solid aluminum to enhance the product's quality, turning a commonplace stationery item into a novel design that can be stored anywhere at home.
What sets the Half Donut apart is its practicality and unique design. The integrated design gives it the appearance of a donut, adding a touch of visual interest. Furthermore, its blade-free design improves safety, making the process of pasting adhesive tape not just safe and convenient, but also enjoyable.
The Half Donut is made using aluminum-pipe bending, CNC turning and milling, and polishing. It measures 89 x 63 x 26 mm and weighs 177 g. It is designed to accommodate adhesive tape with a length of 3m and an inner diameter of 26*26. To use, simply open the magnetically-attached cover along the finger lock, mount the adhesive tape on the Half Donut, and replace the cover.
The design philosophy of the Half Donut is to solve the problem of unstable placement through integrated design and to innovate the traditional design of tearing adhesive tapes. The Half Donut can cut off adhesive tape without a blade, a testament to the design team's ability to overcome creative and technical challenges to achieve a concise appearance and simple usage mode.
Since its inception in January 2016, the Half Donut has been recognized for its innovative design, winning the Silver A' Design Award in 2018. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation. The Half Donut, with its strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, certainly fits this description.
