Hotel Ease: Embracing the Art Deco Charm of New York City

A Unique and Relaxing Experience in Hong Kong

Hotel Ease, located at 15-19 Chun Pin Street, Kwai Chung, Hong Kong, is a stunning example of how the Art Deco movement of the 1920s in New York City has been brought to life in a modern setting. Designed by ARTTA Concept Studio, this hotel combines geometric lines, bold colors, and authentic props to create a unique and relaxing experience for its guests.

Inspired by the commercial heart of America, the designers at ARTTA Concept Studio sought to recreate the charm and elegance of the 1920s New York City in Hong Kong. The lobby of Hotel Ease features black patterned marble flooring arranged in handcrafted planks, creating a dynamic look that pays homage to the Art Deco style. The lobby is also furnished with paintings, bicycles, old-fashioned suitcases, and cameras, transporting guests back in time and immersing them in the ambiance of the past.

The rooms at Hotel Ease continue the Art Deco theme with a combination of black, white, and navy blue. This formal color palette evokes a classic and elegant ambiance, perfect for both business and leisure travelers. The unique font used for the room numbers adds a touch of Deco flair, further enhancing the overall design.

One of the standout features of Hotel Ease is the placement of the sink basin outside the bathroom and within the bedroom. This thoughtful design choice adds convenience for guests, allowing them to freshen up without disturbing others who may be using the bathroom.

The interior design of Hotel Ease is a result of meticulous research and attention to detail. The square frame decor behind the reception, made of brass stainless steel, represents the combination of delicacy and harshness that characterizes the professions of New York City. The silver-grey timber veneer used as the main wall-finishing adds a touch of luxury and transforms the hotel into a high-end establishment.

Creating a hotel that captures the essence of New York City was not without its challenges. The designers at ARTTA Concept Studio aimed to bring the city inside Hotel Ease, and they achieved this by fully furnishing the lobby with props such as bicycles, old-fashioned suitcases, and cameras. Additionally, hanging canvases of skyscrapers in the corridors of each level adds an extra artistic touch, further immersing guests in the New York City experience.

Hotel Ease has received recognition for its outstanding design. In 2018, it was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award recognizes designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and technical skill, contributing to improvements in quality of life.

Hotel Ease, designed by ARTTA Concept Studio, is a testament to the timeless appeal of Art Deco design. By embracing the charm of 1920s New York City, this hotel offers guests a unique and relaxing experience in the heart of Hong Kong.
