Deebot K3: Revolutionizing Home Cleaning with Ultra-Slim Design

Deebot K3, a groundbreaking floor cleaning robot, is designed to provide comprehensive high-quality integrated sweep-and-mop cleaning. Its ultra-slim design allows it to access low and narrow spaces, ensuring thorough cleaning.

Li Xiao Wen, Lu Qiang and Cao Jing Yi, the designers behind Deebot K3, were inspired by the limitations of mainstream cleaning robots. They noticed that many of these robots struggled to access spaces narrower than 8cm, such as under sofas or beds. This observation led to the creation of Deebot K3, an ultra-slim robot with a height of just 5.7cm. This design allows the robot to easily access and clean low and narrow spaces.

Deebot K3 is not just slim but also smart. It is equipped with Smart Move technology, a gyroscope, and mainstream path recognition and obstacle avoidance sensors. These features, combined with optimized algorithms, make the robot intelligent and its path planning more reasonable. The robot cleans in an S-shaped path to prevent cleaning omission and repetition.

The unique feature of Deebot K3 is its OZMO water tank, which provides a high-quality integrated sweep-and-mop cleaning experience. The robot's squircle shape allows its side brushes to reach as outward as possible, ensuring higher cleaning coverage of corners. The designers used non-spray paint to increase product texture, making it environmentally friendly and durable. Fiberglass was used to strengthen the robot's body and reduce its weight.

The Deebot K3 was designed and developed in Suzhou, China, between April 2017 and February 2018. The design process involved extensive customer research to understand the needs and preferences of the target consumer group. This research revealed a gap in the market for a cleaning robot that could access and clean low and narrow spaces, leading to the creation of Deebot K3.

The design of Deebot K3 posed significant challenges, particularly in incorporating an electronically-controlled reservoir system and enhancing the machine's climbing performance within a compact body. However, these challenges were successfully overcome, resulting in a product that offers a superior cleaning experience. The Deebot K3 was awarded Silver in A' Home Appliances Design Award in 2018, a testament to its innovative design and functionality.
