The Twist and Shout is a product of Satria's fascination with the idea of exploring the transition between pure architectural knowledge and unconventional design. The house was designed with this particular mindset, uniting various psychological elements and allowing the dream of realities that were once nothing but a simple idea to come to life.

What sets this design apart is its geometric exploration aimed at maximizing the site's potential. The facade of the structure, a series of calculated geometric and sculpture-like interventions, exploits the tension between conflicting elements. In contrast, the internal areas are designed to have greater fluidity in transition between spaces, both horizontally and vertically. This approach elevates the urban fabric of Semarang, allowing it to compete with other urban tissues at an international level.

The Twist and Shout is not just a visual marvel; it is also a highly efficient working machine as a house. The final result, according to the client, is a very pleasant house that they are proud to have because it shows who they really are and has a highly effective flow of activity program.

The project, which started in January 2013 and finished in January 2016, is part of the Indonesian Architect Association Open House Week on September 2016. It took more than four years of study and construction phases to complete. One significant feature that defines the design of the project is the application of a parametric-based system for the primary facade of the structure. This approach was driven through a detailed solar analysis on the structure, with great attentiveness given to the eastern and western facades.

The Twist and Shout house was awarded the Golden A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award in 2018. The award is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom. They are venerated products and bright ideas that advance art, science, design, and technology, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
