Yongming He's Baisheng Garden: A Fusion of Tradition and Modernity

Golden A' Design Award Winner Merges Lingnan Culture with Contemporary Design Techniques

He drew inspiration from the dragon dance, a characteristic culture of Lingnan and a traditional custom in the city. The dragon dance, with its dynamic movements and rhythmic drum music, symbolizes the city people's pursuit of happiness. This essence is reflected in the design of Baisheng Garden, where the flow of the dragon dance and the natural texture of the landscape are incorporated into the construction of the ceiling. Bamboo pieces create the flow of water, presenting a static and dynamic trend that deepens the high quality of the space.

The unique properties of Baisheng Garden lie in its unconventional structure. The designer uses white as the main tone, shaping an elegant and leisurely atmosphere. The gray spacious cloth art sofa deepens the sense of leisure, while the irregular shape seat reveals a taste of modern fashion. The design's strength lies in its ability to bring natural rhythm into the entertainment flow, creating a space that is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing.

The realization of this design was made possible through the use of fire prevention board, archaize brick, bamboo shade, stainless steel, wired glass, and wire mirror. The project began on June 29, 2017, in Dongguan and ended on September 3, 2017, after which it was opened. The project was executed by the DAOSHENG DESIGN team, with He leading the design process.

One of the challenges faced during the design process was to reflect the commonalities of the real environment and carefully comb the Lingnan culture embodied in the city while observing its natural landform. However, the end result is a space that provides not only basic functions such as reception, leisure, and entertainment but also offers a profound experience of the joy of life and the beauty of art.

Baisheng Garden's design excellence was recognized when it was awarded the Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2018. This award is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom. They are venerated products and bright ideas that advance art, science, design, and technology, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
