Shiny: A Paradigm Shift in Dental Clinic Design

Ayman Ahmed Ramdan's Futuristic and Innovative Approach to Dental Center Design

The design of Shiny is based on the continuity of lines, connecting the flooring with sofas, walls, and ceiling using flexible LED lights and Corian material. The use of black mirrors and laminated wood creates a sense of expansion and extension to the space, reflecting the clinic's color coding. This unique design language sets Shiny apart from traditional dental clinics.

The realization of Shiny's design involved the use of black tempered glass, Corian material, and flexible LED lights. The project required 800 square meters of laminated glass, 500 square meters of vinyl flooring, 1000 square meters of wooden panels, and 300 meters of Corian material for furniture, along with 300 meters of flexible LED lights.

Ayman Ahmed Ramdan, along with a team of talented designers, worked on the project from February 2016 to December 2017 in New Cairo. The design process involved extensive research, including data collection for the dental chair and dental cabinet and patient behavior studies.

One of the major challenges faced during the design process was the connections between the glass and vinyl, the flexible direct LED light, and the Corian. The 3D forming for the Corian material also posed a significant challenge. However, the team's innovative approach and technical expertise enabled them to overcome these challenges and realize their vision for a futuristic dental clinic.

Shiny's innovative design has been recognized with a Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2018. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation. Shiny's award-winning design not only showcases a remarkable level of excellence but also introduces positive feelings, amazement, and wonder, making the patient's experience at the clinic truly unique.
