This balance allows Jal to be versatile, fitting into a variety of formats and contexts. The lamp is handblown in Barcelona, with each hourglass component crafted individually. A slight notch in the rim allows the lamp’s cable to slide through, adding to its simplicity.

The lamp is made from borosilicate glass, a material chosen after extensive research. Borosilicate glass, commonly used for laboratory glassware, has a very low thermal expansion coefficient, reducing material stresses caused by temperature gradients. This makes it an ideal material for lighting products. The lamp comes in two sizes and two finishes, each with its unique character. The light itself is an LED bulb, which doesn’t heat up, making Jal an ideal stand for pencils, plants, or other small items.
