Poente: A Striking Blend of Warm and Cool Materials

Creating a Refined Table Lamp Inspired by Brazilian Design

The aim of the Poente table lamp was to create an innovative and refined lighting product suitable for both homes and workspaces. The inspiration for this design flowed from the lighting of the sunset, seeking to bring a calming ambiance to any environment. The use of primary geometric shapes in the lamp's conception highlights the maximum beauty of its materials and textures, generating a piece with a lot of natural contrast.

The unique properties of Poente lie in its choice of materials and its attention to detail. The lamp features Rojo Alicante marble, walnut wood, brushed brass, and a linen lamp shade. This combination creates a striking visual that accentuates the natural elements of the design. The use of marble and wood, along with the brushed brass details, adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to the piece.

When it comes to functionality, Poente is simple to use. It can be plugged directly into the socket through a cable coated in brown fabric, with an on/off button in brushed brass. The main structure of the lamp is made of marble and wood, with joints and details in brass, ensuring durability and resistance.

The design process for Poente started in December 2021 in Maranhão, Brazil, and was completed in April 2022 in São Paulo, Brazil. Throughout the project, the designer faced challenges in choosing the right marble that would be slender and light enough to maintain the lamp's balance and resistance while also harmonizing with the overall shape.

Poente has received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category in 2023. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and technical and creative skills. Poente's incorporation of best practices in art, science, design, and technology contributes to improving the quality of life, making it a worthy recipient of this accolade.
