Shanghai Qin Mansion: A Simple and Fashionable Residence

Renowned Designer Lei Fang Creates a Modern Living Space

Qin Mansion is a large flat, with the horizontal hall crossing series of primary and secondary relations, and other functional areas orderly distributed on both ends. The designer moderately depicted his modern life proposition by emphasizing the proportion of space and layout. You can intuitively feel the ampleness of space when you walk into the room through the hallway.

Renowned designer Lei Fang has transformed the ordinary into the extraordinary with his latest project, Shanghai Qin Mansion. This residential house showcases a simple yet fashionable and comfortable design, capturing the essence of modern living. By emphasizing the proportion of space and layout, Fang has created a space that exudes a sense of ampleness and sophistication.

One of the standout features of Qin Mansion is the horizontal hall that connects various primary and secondary areas. This unique layout allows for a seamless flow between different functional spaces. Fang's expertise in simple style design is evident throughout the residence, with a focus on clean lines and a minimalist aesthetic.

The living room, which surrounds two columns that were part of the original space structure, is a testament to Fang's ingenuity. By cleverly using a custom corner sofa, the columns are seamlessly integrated into the design, creating a harmonious and visually appealing space. The clear tulle curtains add a touch of flexibility, allowing for the adjustment of indoor lighting to suit different moods and occasions.

Another highlight of Qin Mansion is the floor-to-ceiling glass windows that offer breathtaking views of the surrounding scenery. This design choice not only brings in an abundance of natural light but also creates a sense of connection between the interior and exterior spaces. To further enhance this connection, Fang has strategically placed a group of white Flos chandeliers, highlighting the interplay between blankness and actuality.

Qin Mansion is a testament to Fang's ability to create spaces that accommodate the diversity of life experiences. The residence not only showcases the beauty of form and function but also invites a spiritual dialogue with its occupants. Fang believes that even after years of use, the pure and simple design of Qin Mansion will continue to inspire and provide a sense of tranquility.

The project, which started in March 2017 and finished in August 2017, is a true testament to Fang's creative vision and technical expertise. The challenges of integrating the original space structure, such as a triple-turning stair, were overcome with innovative solutions. For example, the stair was rebuilt into a cabinet, with a hidden pull-out cabinet behind a matte paint door. This seamless integration not only maximizes storage space but also adds a touch of aesthetic appeal.

Shanghai Qin Mansion has garnered recognition for its outstanding design. In 2019, it was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award recognizes designs that showcase creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving quality of life.

With Shanghai Qin Mansion, Lei Fang has once again demonstrated his ability to create spaces that are both visually stunning and functional. This simple and fashionable residence is a true reflection of modern living, offering a sanctuary for its occupants to relax, unwind, and embrace the beauty of design.
