Pig: A Multifunctional Seating Design

Adorable Shape and Versatility Combine in this Unique Design

Chinese zodiac culture inspires a new style seat and decoration

One of the standout features of the Pig design is its simplicity and elegance. The seat can be upholstered in leather or various fabrics, allowing it to seamlessly blend with different decorating styles. Its compact size, measuring 760mm*400mm*460mm, makes it suitable for both small and large spaces.

What sets the Pig design apart is its ability to transform into a tea table. By lifting the upper part of the seat, a plexiglass panel is revealed, creating a sturdy surface for placing drinks or small objects. This ellipsoidal panel also serves as a storage space, perfect for keeping magazines or other items within reach.

The Pig design is crafted using high-quality materials. The internal structure is made with DSM resin, ensuring accuracy and durability. The seat is upholstered with top brand fabric, Caira blazer, which is 100% wool, giving it a luxurious and textured feel.

Francesco Favaretto first designed the Pig in Milan in May 2013, and it was completed in China in February 2014. It made its debut at the CIFF exhibition in March 2014, where it garnered attention for its innovative design and functionality.

The Pig design has received recognition for its excellence. It was awarded the Bronze A' Furniture Design Award in 2019, which celebrates designs that showcase creativity, resourcefulness, and technical skill. This accolade highlights the Pig's contribution to improving the quality of life through its incorporation of art, science, design, and technology.

With its charming design and multifunctional capabilities, the Pig seating design is a delightful addition to any space. Whether used as a seat, a tea table, or a storage solution, it combines practicality with aesthetic appeal, making it a standout piece in the world of furniture design.
