Creating a Calm and Serene Public Space

Tranquility, a lifelong status people coveting, is alleviating and consequently taking us farther. The influence of tranquility, applied in this house, creates a pacified space by means of the modern composed skills that propose the placid colors and design ideas so as to establish a calm living environment.

The Tranquility Yields Transcendence design stands out with its unique properties and strengths. It embraces tranquility as a guiding principle, employing modern design techniques to create a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The use of placid colors and thoughtful design ideas contribute to a calm living environment.

The realization of this design is achieved through the careful selection of architectural materials. The textures of the building stones, such as cloudy quartz and serpeggiante, develop genuine colors and exclusive textures over time, adding depth and character to the space.

Located in Xitun District, Taichung City, Taiwan, this project was completed in August 2017. The first floor spans an area of 1655 square meters, providing ample space for public interaction and relaxation.

The design seamlessly integrates indoor and outdoor spaces, creating an invigorating landscape. Water features, trees, and transparent and opaque glass elements adorn the outdoor area, while the interplay of natural light filtering through the trees and windows casts captivating shadows on the stone walls, enhancing the sense of time and fantasy.

In the black-and-white space, the gray stones express variations of colors, adding visual interest and depth. The combination of warm woods and cool stones, unsophisticated streaks and smooth textures, and graceful glass and hefty stones create a harmonious fusion of contrasting elements. The play of warm lights and cold structures further intensifies the overall ambiance.

The design also overcame creative and technical challenges. Wall display cabinets, symmetrically placed in the white space, reflect a serene momentum, evoking a sense of time passing and a soothing of the mind amidst the space adorned with calm colors and subdued lighting.

Tranquility Yields Transcendence was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2019. This prestigious award recognizes designs that exhibit outstanding creativity and resourcefulness, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology. The design contributes to improving the quality of life, making the world a better place.
