British Jazz: A Harmonious Fusion of Classic and Modern

Karen Lin's Award-Winning Residential Space Design

Unveiling the British Jazz, a residential space design by Karen Lin that harmoniously blends classical British aesthetics with modern charm. This design, which won the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019, is a testament to Lin's pursuit of aesthetic details and material construction methods.

British Jazz is a unique residential space design that stands out for its distinct saturated color background, which injects lively interest into the space, and sets off the neutral soft outfit furniture. The special decorating of 19th-century imagery objects further enhances the space's aesthetic appeal, making it seem as if one has stepped into a time tunnel.

The living room furniture is biased towards understated neutral color, maintaining a consistent harmonious tonality throughout the space. The master bedroom features a small living room with two golden mustard-colored velvet chairs, a small tea table, and a fireplace, creating a warm atmosphere. The bed set exudes a graceful and luxurious temperament, while the audacious choice of pink and purple velvet curtains lends an exquisite and noble atmosphere to the room.

The design realization of British Jazz is as impressive as its aesthetics. The living room space, which emphasizes the atmosphere of family reunion, features a black steel brush wood bark behind the TV to integrate vision with the TV. The use of marble splicing technique extends the whole vision outward. The drapes connecting to the extensive study room, and the fashionable bright orange leather software also differentiate the space and living room.

Before entering the master bedroom, one encounters a bar counter that combines the function of storage and buffering. The dressing room facade behind the bar uses modeling cutting and mirror material, transforming the bar area into a complete corridor space when the door is closed. This thoughtful design takes into account the atmosphere of the highest privacy of the main bedroom.

The design of British Jazz was completed in October 2017 in Kaohsiung, with a space area of 400 square meters. Despite the challenges of combining a lot of material and color inside the space, Lin successfully maintained the harmony of colors in the space. The result is a residential space design that diffuses a style of classical British and modern exquisite charm, offering a better quality of life and space aesthetics to the owners.

In conclusion, British Jazz is a testament to Karen Lin's commitment to the pursuit of aesthetic details and the presentation of material construction methods. The design, which won the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019, is not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional, offering a unique living experience that is both precious and cozy.
