Revolutionizing Photography: The Kylin M Motorized Stabilizer

SNOPPA & GWOWO's Innovative Design Wins Golden A' Design Award

SNOPPA & GWOWO's Kylin M, a groundbreaking motorized stabilizer, is transforming the world of photography. This innovative design, which won the prestigious Golden A' Design Award, offers a lightweight, multi-angle, and cost-effective solution for both professional and amateur photographers.

The inspiration for the Kylin M came from the desire to create a stabilizer that was not only lightweight and easy to carry, but also capable of shooting at different angles. The team at SNOPPA & GWOWO recognized that many of the stabilizers on the market were too heavy and not conducive to low-angle shooting. This led them to design the Kylin M, a device that effectively eliminates video shake and delivers smooth, professional video quality.

What sets the Kylin M apart from other stabilizers is its unique properties. The device is designed to handle mirrorless cameras and some digital single-lens reflex cameras, but can also stabilize mobile phones and action cameras. The Kylin M is the world's first stabilizer with a rotatable handle design, making it easy to carry and film at different angles, especially for low-angle shots. The device also allows direct control of the photo shutter, focus, and video recording, making it easy to zoom in for big shots.

The Kylin M is made primarily of aluminum, giving the product sufficient strength without adding unnecessary weight. The device is processed by a CNC machine tool and then sandblasted, giving it a professional and valuable appearance. Foam is added to cushion and protect the product. The pen holder grip measures 156 mm x 171 mm x 338 mm, while the shake hand grip measures 156 mm x 222.2 mm x 224 mm.

The design process for the Kylin M involved extensive research, including visiting 50 photographers and observing their habits and difficulties during the shooting process. The team found that more than 80% of consumers wanted a lighter device for outdoor shooting and the ability to shoot from more angles. Based on this feedback, the team focused on creating a lightweight, multi-angle, cost-effective design.

The biggest challenge in creating the Kylin M was finding a balance between carry capacity and gimbal weight. The team wanted to create a stabilizer that was lightweight yet powerful enough to carry powerful cameras. They chose to focus on mirrorless cameras and some lighter digital single-lens reflex cameras to ensure the stabilizer could be used by amateurs as well as professionals.

The Kylin M has been recognized for its innovative design, winning the Golden A' Digital and Electronic Device Design Award in 2019. This award is given to outstanding creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom, advance art, science, design, and technology, and significantly impact the world with their desirable characteristics.
