Meo: The Folded Cat Box

A Foldable and Hygienic Solution for Cat Owners

Meo stands out from other cat boxes on the market due to its foldable design and unique properties. Each pad is printed with the number of days the kitten was born and important tips for cat care, allowing owners to track the growth of their kittens and stay informed about their needs.

One of the key features of Meo is its easy interaction. The owner can open the box according to the creases, providing a spacious and safe environment for the mother cat to take care of her kittens. The urinal pads, updated daily in the form of a calendar, remind the owner to replace them regularly, ensuring the cleanliness of the box and enhancing the owner's sense of participation in taking care of the cat. As the kittens grow and become more active, the box can be conveniently folded for easy storage.

Meo's design specifications are as follows: Width 450mm x Depth 500mm x Height 250mm. The design team at Daodun Studio meticulously researched and experimented with various folding techniques to ensure the quick and efficient expansion of the cat box. They also considered the thickness of the pad box, rearranging the layout to create a better match between the urine pad box and the cat box.

Meo was developed in Beijing, with the project starting in June 2018 and finishing in September 2018. The design team at Daodun Studio drew inspiration from the art of origami, aiming to create a cat box that could be easily folded and stored. They also wanted to provide cat owners with a tool to track the important stages of their kittens' growth, fostering a stronger sense of participation and care.

Meo has received recognition for its outstanding design and functionality. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Pet Care, Toys, Supplies, and Products for Animals category in 2019. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that showcase creativity, resourcefulness, and technical skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
