Innovative Pet Bowl Wins Bronze at A' Design Awards

Pawsome Pace Control Kit: A Revolution in Pet Feeding

The Pawsome Pace Control Kit by Liu Liang and Huang Lixia has been recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award, revolutionizing the way pets eat and interact with their food.

Addressing a common concern among pet owners, the Pawsome Pace Control Kit is a pet bowl designed to mitigate health risks associated with rapid eating in pets. Recognizing that most market-available pet bowls serve as mere containers without considering the health implications of fast consumption, designers Liu Liang and Huang Lixia have crafted a solution that is both practical and innovative. Their design caters specifically to pets in rehabilitation or those prone to health issues, ensuring a slower, healthier eating pace.

What sets the Pawsome Pace Control Kit apart is its unique figure “8” shaped silicone bowl, complete with a feed divider and a slow feeding mat for liquid food. This design allows for various configurations and compatibility with other products, offering pet owners the flexibility to adapt to their pets' needs. The fan-shaped, soft divider is designed to fit most existing pet bowl sizes, showcasing remarkable adaptability and user-friendliness.

The creation of this pet bowl set involves precision and care, utilizing food-grade standard non-hazard silicone material. The manufacturing process includes the use of copper male electrodes and an EDM machine to achieve diverse surface textures. Due to the larger size of the components compared to typical silicone products, meticulous attention is given to the weight of the material and the sizing of different parts to ensure an even flow.

With dimensions of 280mm by 220mm by 55mm, the Pawsome Pace Control Kit is a testament to thoughtful design. It features a dual-purpose silicone bowl for both feed and liquid, with the inclusion of a feed divider and slow feeding mat that can be used in either section. The components are equipped with a vacuum suction mechanism at the base, providing stability and preventing spills or movement during mealtime.

The development of this product took place over two months, from October to December 2023, in Shenzhen. Research into pet vision informed the color choices for the set, with blue and yellow hues selected for their visibility to cats and dogs. This consideration ensures that the design is not only functional but also visually engaging for pets.

Overcoming challenges such as the need for a non-slip base and the creation of a durable yet flexible form, the designers have successfully introduced a product that stands out in the pet care market. The Pawsome Pace Control Kit's recognition at the A' Design Awards underscores its contribution to enhancing pet wellness and feeding habits, demonstrating excellence in design that marries form and function seamlessly.

The A' Pet Care, Toys, Supplies and Products for Animals Design Award is a prestigious accolade that celebrates designs which significantly improve the quality of life for pets and their owners. Liu Liang and Huang Lixia's achievement with the Pawsome Pace Control Kit is a clear indication of their commitment to innovative, responsible design that prioritizes the well-being of our furry companions.
