Atlas and Pleione: Subterranean Elegance Meets Sustainability

Luxury Villas in Greece Redefine Eco-Friendly Living

Introducing Atlas and Pleione, a groundbreaking residential project by Vasilis Siafaricas, where luxury meets sustainability in the heart of Lefkada Island, Greece.

Amidst the growing global emphasis on eco-conscious living, the Atlas and Pleione project emerges as a beacon of innovation and luxury. These subterranean villas, designed by Vasilis Siafaricas, are a testament to the harmonious blend of high-end living and environmental stewardship. The project draws its inspiration from the pressing need to develop properties that honor and protect the natural world, aiming to provide a living experience that is both indulgent and responsible.

The uniqueness of Atlas and Pleione lies in their seamless integration with the picturesque landscape of Lefkada Island. These villas are not just structures but a narrative of mythology and modernity, with design cues taken from the tales of their namesakes. The villas boast energy-efficient features such as three-meter high ceilings, advanced glass panels, and heat pumps, all contributing to a minimalistic aesthetic that complements the breathtaking vistas. The incorporation of A++ aluminum frames and the strategic use of natural light further enhance the villas' sustainable profile.

Realizing such a project required meticulous planning and advanced construction techniques. The challenge was to build subterranean dwellings on rocky terrain near the ocean while addressing potential issues related to insulation, ventilation, and humidity. The result is a testament to the successful research and collaboration between experts in European insulation, green development, and high-quality material suppliers.

Each villa spans approximately 250 sqm and is equipped with luxurious amenities, including three bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, two atriums, and a private storage area. The outdoor space features L-shaped swimming pools with optical fiber lighting, outdoor barbecues, and living rooms. The interiors are adorned with marble from Carrara, Vratsa, and Mugla, while the granite tiles ensure durability and elegance. The technical specifications are equally impressive, with standalone air conditioning systems and high-end electrical fittings.

The inhabitants of Atlas and Pleione enjoy a low energy lifestyle within a pristine environment, thanks to the villas' sustainable design and operation. The project, which commenced in December 2019 and concluded in August 2022, is a significant step forward in the realm of luxury eco-friendly residences. The villas' design not only overcame creative and technical challenges but also set a new standard for luxury properties that prioritize environmental integrity.

Atlas and Pleione have been recognized for their exceptional design and contribution to sustainable living with a Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building, and Structure Design in 2024. This accolade celebrates the project's fusion of artistic vision, scientific innovation, and commitment to enhancing quality of life while fostering a more sustainable future.
