Smile With Wanja: A Revolution in School Exercise Books

Introducing Smile With Wanja, an innovative school exercise book series designed by Jaehun Kim and Younghyun Kim. This unique approach to learning material design aims to bring happiness to everyone, with its vivid graphics and boxed characters, embodying the essence of the brand - 'Make a Smile'.

The inspiration behind Smile With Wanja comes from the brand's essence 'Make a Smile'. The designers aimed to create a product that visualizes a positive message, making everyone happy. The Wanja series consistently portrays the message that studying can be fun, with its cute boxed characters and graphics emphasizing vivid colors. The unified design system across the products and the brand book completes a high-quality series.

What sets Smile With Wanja apart is its unique Powerbox Learning System. This system is represented by box-shaped learning methods, uniformly applied from the cover design to text pages. The brand book includes design guides to deliver the brand essence to customers, making it an efficient brochure that helps consumers and designers understand Wanja.

The realization of this design is defined by the Wanja Orange color, symbolizing the brand's essence. The brand book is designed with a brand symbol and the Wanja Orange color. The cover design uses a shiny Lencell technique for visual interest, and the brand identity also applies to school supplies and household goods, resulting in a consistent application of Wanja's identity and design system.

Wanja exercise books are designed with specific dimensions and consist of 20 workbooks for subjects like Korean, math, social science, and science. The box character, similar to the book shape, is used as a design motif. The glistening Lencell technology has been used in book covers for better visual enjoyment. The Wanja Brandbook is made of texture that stimulates the delicate touch of the brand color.

Wanja is an exercise book that helps students study on their own, instilling confidence and peace of mind in both students and parents. The Wanja series contains the ideal image of a family. The boxed characters that resemble a book shape express its identity, making the Wanja series a powerful presence.

The Wanja project was held in Seoul from February to September of 2018. The Wanja Strategy Learning Team established an identity and created a new design. The result is a good design model for an interesting New Wanja series. The design was awarded Silver in A' Print and Published Media Design Award in 2019, a testament to its creative and professional design that showcases a remarkable level of excellence.
