Sculpture Nature: A Zen-inspired Residential Space

Unveiling the Harmonious Blend of Tradition and Modernity

Inspired by the pursuit of elegance and the desire for fresh joys, Ya-Ko Cheng, the renowned designer, has created Sculpture Nature, a breathtaking residential space that seamlessly blends traditional fashion with contemporary aesthetics. With its black, white, and grey color palette and the use of natural materials, this design exudes a sense of Zen, creating a serene and harmonious atmosphere.

Arc lines gracefully adorn every corner of Sculpture Nature, symbolizing the host's aspiration for family harmony and perfection. The space showcases a unique combination of depth and light-colored wood and stone, creating a visually captivating experience. The addition of titanium-plated metal and galactic limestone adds a touch of modernity, breaking free from traditional design norms and infusing the space with an air of grace and tranquility.

Emphasizing the natural impression, the main wall of the living room features a 5-meter-long rock formation made from scored stone, weighing nearly 3 tons. Throughout the space, an abundance of stone, Taiwan red cypress, and walnut create a natural ecological scene. By repurposing materials in different areas, the design showcases the versatility and richness of these elements.

Spanning across 429 square meters, Sculpture Nature offers a modern, Zen-inspired living experience that satisfies even the most discerning homeowners. The use of Taiwan red cypresses, the owner's favorite, adds warmth and texture to the walls, creating a cozy ambiance. The carefully chosen black, white, and grey color scheme not only balances the visual aesthetics but also highlights the unique characteristics of the materials.

The design of Sculpture Nature promotes interaction and connectivity. Private areas are evenly distributed on both ends of the space, allowing for an expanded central public sphere. A large dining table and bar configuration cater to visitors, fostering a sense of togetherness. The ceiling, adorned with long wooden grain lamps, guides the vision and pace, enhancing the overall experience.

Overcoming various challenges, the design team ensured the safety and structural integrity of Sculpture Nature. Reinforcements were made to the building to support the weight of the 3-ton TV main wall, guaranteeing its stability.

Walking through Sculpture Nature, one is greeted by a refreshing and serene atmosphere. The design captures the essence of external scenery and seamlessly merges it with the charm of wood and stone. With its spacious and barrier-free layout, this residential space embodies the graciousness and sincerity of the homeowner. Each room emanates a warm and inviting glow, creating comfortable and welcoming scenes.

Sculpture Nature, designed by Ya-Ko Cheng, is a testament to the designer's creativity and ingenuity. It has been awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2019. This prestigious accolade recognizes the exceptional quality and resourcefulness of the design, showcasing its technical and creative prowess in improving the quality of life and making the world a better place.
