No. 1328 Concentration: A Testament to Minimalistic Residential Design

Award-Winning Design by Wen Liang Hung Marries Functionality and Comfort

The inspiration behind No. 1328 Concentration is the idea of a home without visitors. The design is centered around simplicity and the perfect blend of functionality and comfort. The living room is situated on the first floor, the master bedroom and study on the second, children's rooms on the third, and a Buddhist chapel on the fourth. The basement serves as a recreation room, minimally decorated to maximize space.

The unique properties of this design lie in its minimalistic approach. The interior and exterior walls are painted in a 34-degree gray, creating a play of light and shadow as the light shifts throughout the day. This design choice adds depth and dimension to the space, enhancing its aesthetic appeal.

The house spans an area of 675 square meters. The design process involved understanding the owner's desire for a simple home living, followed by numerous discussions and space focusing with 3D drawings. This process helped narrow down the essential elements needed for a comfortable home living, thus sparking ideas for the interior design.

The project was completed in May 2018 in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. The design team, including Wen Liang Hung and Ryan Liu, faced several challenges during the design process. In addition to introducing natural wind and light indoors, they installed water purification devices, dehumidification, and AC systems throughout the house to maintain the long-term quality of the space.

The design's success is reflected in its accolades. It was awarded Silver in the A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019, a testament to its remarkable design and innovation. The award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation.
