The standout feature of this design is the creative use of space transitions. Different angles and planes are extensively utilized throughout the house, offering a unique and dynamic feel. The main wall in the public areas, adorned in gray, houses the TV and serves as a backdrop to the jungle-style wallpaper in the dining room. This wallpaper, coupled with metal ceiling lamps, distinctly outlines the dining area, making it the focal point of the public space.
The living room is furnished with rectangle track lamps, and the consistent use of color on the walls seamlessly integrates it with the dining room. The low-chroma color schemes skillfully create both distinguishing and persistent styles. The bar area, ornamented with metal lightings and ceiling racks, exudes a muscular charm, further enhancing the jungle aesthetic.
The 'Residence of Jungle' spans 82 square meters and is a testament to the designers' ability to incorporate minimalistic, muscular, and special features to present a distinctive and consistent-style residence. The design was completed in June 2018 in Hsinchu City, Taiwan, and has since been a symbol of unique interior design.
One of the challenges faced during the design process was incorporating the design ideas of sloped planes from the entryway to the lounge. The specific geometric shapes of woods, in diverse angles, not only exhibit the design ideas, but also invent visual variations. The delicate plants adorned on the metal rack, suspended from the wooden ceiling, add a touch of delicate attraction.
The 'Residence of Jungle' was awarded Silver in the A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. The designs are admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcasing a remarkable level of excellence and introducing positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
In conclusion, Chih-Chieh Tien and Yi-Hsuan Lung's 'Residence of Jungle' is a remarkable residential house design that beautifully merges the vitality and enormity of nature with modern architecture. It stands as a testament to the designers' innovative approach and their ability to create a unique and engaging living space.
