Danxia the Heirloom: A Legacy Home Inspired by Nature

Residential Building Designed by Grand Developments Co. Ltd.

To represent the natural landscape of Danxia seemed a mission virtually impossible. It would involve not only the perfect medium - the materials - but also absolute mastery of art and craftsmanship. A fruitful quest in Hebei, China, has enabled the architects to create the image of the spectacular mountains in Danxia by using rocks that have the texture of granite and the streaks of marble.

Grand Developments Co. Ltd. has brought the breathtaking beauty of Danxia, Guangdong, to life with their latest residential building, Danxia the Heirloom. This architectural masterpiece is not just a home, but a legacy to be passed down from generation to generation. With its solid construction and stunning design, Danxia the Heirloom is a dream come true.

The unique feature of Danxia the Heirloom lies in its meticulous attention to detail. The stone outer walls, pieced together with rocks that resemble granite and marble, capture the grandeur of the Danxia mountains. The greyish white streaks on the surface mimic the cascading waterfalls, adding a touch of elegance to the building. The result is a mountain-like structure that exudes rhythm and luster.

The design process involved collaboration between architects, sculptors, and stonemasonry experts. Sculptors from Taiwan and China worked closely with the architects to design the curved balcony walls, using innovative methods to achieve the perfect hyperbolic geometry that mirrors the curves of the gargantuan rocks in Danxia. The use of oblique-hewed faces of Indian black granite further enhances the expressiveness of the curved walls, encapsulating the unique texture and quality of the red sedimentary rocks.

Danxia the Heirloom consists of eight attached units of luxury residences, each equipped with an elevator. The basement of each unit features an atrium of fair-faced concrete, reminiscent of Chinese splash-ink paintings. With skylights and green trees, the basement serves multiple functions, including acting as a private club. The first floor of each unit is an artistic space that can accommodate up to four cars.

Situated in Taichung City, Taiwan, Danxia the Heirloom benefits from its central location and easy access to main highways. The design team has created a landscape that not only captures the essence of Danxia but also provides a convenient and luxurious living experience for its residents.

Danxia the Heirloom has received recognition for its outstanding design. In 2019, it was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building, and Structure Design category. This prestigious award celebrates designs that showcase creativity, resourcefulness, and technical expertise, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
