Posto P10: Redefining Fuel Sales with Monumental Design

Transforming the Gas Station Landscape in Manaus, Brazil

Inspired by concepts of monumentalism, Balko Argentina has created Posto P10, a gas station that aims to revolutionize the fuel sales market in Brazil. Located in the heart of the Amazon region, this iconic station combines futuristic design elements with eco-friendly features, making it a flagship destination for both vehicles and pedestrians.

Posto P10 is the result of a collaboration between Balko Argentina and the brand "Equador energia," which underwent a visual identity unification with "Dislub energia." The project involved the remodeling of one of the most important gas stations in Manaus, transforming it into an incredible improved flagship for the brand. The design showcases a Startingate model with a 40.00m free light in the longitudinal direction and 11.00m in the transversal direction, allowing for the flow of natural light throughout the property and creating a seamless experience for customers.

Extensive market research was conducted to understand the unique challenges and opportunities of gas stations in Brazil. Balko Argentina delved into the customs and preferences of the people in Manaus, identifying creative paths that led to the concept of "monumentalism." This concept, combined with the brand's vision, laid the foundation for the remarkable design of Posto P10.

The gas station features two eccentric legs made with metal and reinforced concrete, which serve as the main structure, providing stability and linking the different elements of the design. The canopy exudes a sense of lightness and modernity, while the translucent roof creates the illusion of constant illumination, thanks to zenithal lighting during the day and artificial lighting at night. The brand panel on the front and back serves as the main identification, reinforcing the station's visual identity.

Posto P10 has not only transformed the landscape of Manaus but also enhanced the area's lighting and status. It has become a hub of activity, attracting both vehicles and pedestrians. The station's flagship status has also encouraged the development of new shops in the vicinity, benefiting the local economy and providing a unique experience for customers.

The project, which began in November 2017, saw the reopening of Posto P10 in July 2020. Balko Argentina's meticulous attention to detail and commitment to delivering a design on par with international standards, despite budget constraints, has set a new benchmark for gas stations in Brazil.

Posto P10 has been recognized for its outstanding design and creativity, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building, and Structure Design category in 2021. This accolade acknowledges the station's contribution to quality of life improvements through its incorporation of best practices in art, science, design, and technology.

Posto P10 is a testament to Balko Argentina's dedication to pushing boundaries and creating designs that make a positive impact. With its unique aesthetic and design language, this gas station stands as a symbol of the brand's commitment to excellence and innovation.
