The Spiral DNA's design is a deliberate blend of form and function. Its external and internal double-helix DNA shape, created by the intricate combination of external shading blinds and indoor spiral ramps around the courtyard, resonates with the main theme of biomedicine. This innovative design not only showcases the unique features of the biomedical industry but also breaks the stereotype of common exhibition centers.
The Exhibition Center is designed to serve as an industry promotion and image display tool. It aims to build an image with a demonstrative effect for the Zhengzhou Airport Biomedical Park. The design's unique properties include the integration of outdoor sunshade louvers with ramps circling around the indoor atrium, forming a DNA-like structure that echoes the motif of DNA biomedicine while meeting customer needs.
The realization of this architectural marvel was no small feat. The design method adopted is similar to that of art museum spaces, resulting in a ramp that resembles a DNA helix in the sunshine entering the courtyard. The building's design also considers the application of energy-saving, emission reduction, and low carbon technology, ensuring high efficiency and low operation.
The Spiral DNA is not just a building; it's an interactive design that works in harmony with its environment. Its core space uses a double helix structure, creating a vertical space combined with the central landscape. The exterior uses metal louvers hovering from the surface waterscape until reaching the roof platform, and the interior is organically connected in series via spiral ramps, forming life trails and creating coherent and convenient internal flow lines among floors.
The Spiral DNA's design is a winner of the prestigious Silver A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award in 2019. This award is a testament to the design's creativity, professional excellence, and innovation. The Spiral DNA stands as a symbol of the future of biomedical architecture, embodying a pure and rigorous attitude towards scientific research and humanistic care for its users.
