The inspiration for Matrix came from the concept of balanced extension in spatial layout. Tang Chung-han sought to create a flow between the public and private spheres within the residence. This was achieved through the use of a sliding door and an interior horizontal window that fully expands, allowing the best light and scenery to be conveyed indoors.
The interior decoration of Matrix is a unique contemporary style, created by the master's casual collection. Different types of lights and a metal screen are used to enrich the expression and spatial level of the residence. The design also features a contrast of black and white as the main material tone, combined with the original space beam-column relationship and the framework of the ceiling. This combination retains the maximum level of indoor space experience.
What sets Matrix apart from other designs is its ability to satisfy the completeness of modern city dwelling function while presenting a modern space style. The complex building structure is made readable through the elements of mirror, floating plate, and light. The indoor horizontal window opening is fully unfolded, allowing the public and private fields to effectively connect and flow through the sliding door relationship.
Matrix's unique properties and innovative design earned it the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
In conclusion, Matrix by Tang Chung-han is a testament to the power of innovative design in creating a harmonious balance between public and private spaces. The design's emphasis on spatial layout, light conveyance, and modern style sets it apart in the field of interior design, making it a deserving winner of the Silver A' Design Award.
