The design of Gemdale Theone Property is rooted in the idea of creating an experience site of landscape and art, as well as a landmark of metropolis and humanity. The project draws inspiration from the Lingnan culture, infusing the landscape design with valued residences and exquisite ornamentation. The result is a harmonious blend of aesthetics and functionality.
One of the unique features of this design is the integrated intervention of architecture, courtyard, landscape, and interior design. This integration creates a cozy dwelling environment where the boundaries between outdoor and indoor are blurred. The pavilion, made of metal in a semi-apparent form, becomes a vital part of the courtyard, offering a private space for activities such as chatting, yum cha, and reading.
The materials used in the realization of this design include plants, marble, stone, and aluminum. These materials not only add to the visual appeal of the property but also contribute to its durability and sustainability.
The layout of Gemdale Theone Property merges symmetry of axis and appropriate functions in one. The entrance features a stainless steel ribbon sculpture that forms the optical center, creating a sense of ceremony. The recreation deck and waterscape complement the architecture, providing spaces for various human activities.
Located in Guangzhou, China, the construction of Gemdale Theone Property began in December 2017 and was completed in September 2018. Throughout the project, the design team faced the challenge of tight deadlines, common in the Chinese property market. To overcome this challenge, they made adjustments to the construction materials and techniques while still maintaining the original concept. Additionally, various types of trees and plants were strategically added to create a land of idyllic beauty and minimize the impact of neighboring blocks.
The Gemdale Theone Property has been recognized for its outstanding design and creativity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building, and Structure Design category in 2019. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
With its fusion of landscape and architecture, Gemdale Theone Property stands as a testament to the power of design to create a refined and fashionable living space. It seamlessly integrates with its surroundings while offering a unique and aesthetically pleasing environment for its residents.
