LiHao: A Modern Oasis in the Heart of Baoding

Unveiling Liang Fang's Award-Winning Hotel Design

Liang Fang's inspiration for LiHao stems from the local culture, architecture, and nature of Baoding, China. The exterior design pays homage to the sloping roof shape of traditional northern courtyard buildings, infusing the structure with a blend of traditional architectural charm and modern simplicity. The result is a hotel that stands as a cultural station in the city, offering a refined lifestyle and a quiet sanctuary amidst the urban bustle.

What sets LiHao apart is its holistic approach to design. The hotel is a testament to the designer's ability to redefine the concept of a city resort hotel. By considering the surrounding environment, architecture, landscape, and interior, Liang Fang has created a sophisticated, natural, and comfortable hotel space. It is a place where business travelers can find tranquility amidst prosperity and steal a moment of leisure.

The realization of LiHao's design involved the use of traditional cultural elements to create space charm, while catering to modern people's understanding and pursuit of life. Main materials used include wood veneer, marble, wall covering, stainless steel, glass, and mirror. The hotel design also references the roof form of the courtyard and applies porcelain, one of the five famous kilns in the Song Dynasty of China, to the soft decoration.

LiHao spans five floors and boasts 85 different room types, covering a total area of 10,000 square meters. The hotel caters to travelers seeking a departure from the typical urban business hotel style, offering a space where people can relax and feel calm. The design aims to make travelers feel the beauty of nature, provide comfort for the body and mind, and energize them for their upcoming journeys.

The project started in May 2018 and was completed in April 2019. One of the challenges faced during the design process was exploring the culture of Baoding and implanting it into the hotel design. Efficient communication in a short period of time was also key to the design's success. Despite these challenges, LiHao emerged as a winner of the prestigious Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020, a testament to the design's outstanding creativity and excellence.
