Seda: A Fusion of Technology and Aesthetics

Arvin Maleki and Ayda Mohseni's Award-Winning Portable Speaker Design

Derived from a desire to integrate technology and aesthetics, Seda was designed with the aim of creating a sense of relaxation for users of technological gadgets. This multifunctional device not only appeals to the eye but also optimizes the use of space, making it a perfect addition to any modern home or office.

What sets Seda apart from other portable speakers is its intelligent technology base and unique features. It serves as a space organizer with a pen holder in the center, a USB port, and a Bluetooth connection that transforms it into a portable player and speaker. A light bar embedded in the external body doubles as a desk light, adding to its multifunctionality. Its luxurious look makes it an appealing home-ware item that can be used in interior design.

The creation of Seda involved the use of Bluetooth technology, a light ribbon, and a touch control panel. With a diameter and height of 200 mm, this wireless portable speaker also features a synced-up mode. It can be connected to other devices like a mobile phone through Bluetooth technology, and the media player control panel embedded in its body allows for easy media control. A light line has been implanted around it for providing environmental light, and a rotational role in the center of Seda's body is used for organizing ordinary writing or drawing tools.

The design process for Seda began in Tehran, Iran in March 2019 and was completed in May 2019. The project required extensive research on nature formation and aesthetics, as well as expert knowledge on design issues. One of the main challenges was creating an appealing and useful device based on technology, with the design and implementation of Seda's form being the most challenging part of the process.

Seda's design excellence was recognized when it was awarded Silver in the A' Digital and Electronic Device Design Award in 2020. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
