The inspiration for this project stemmed from minimalistic brands and websites. The design team, comprising Anna Lengyel, Andras Csizmazia, and Mate Varholik, sought to create a unique identity design that represented the Students Union's values. The challenge lay in restructuring the existing 11-page website to enhance its user-friendliness and visual appeal.
The team began by redesigning the old vintage-looking logo, providing a fresh foundation for the renewed identity and online presence. The website's structure was then overhauled, followed by the creation of all necessary visual elements for the web design. The result was a unique and engaging website that stood out from its counterparts.
One of the key features of the Elte Btk Hok website is its responsive design, which ensures optimal viewing and interaction across a range of devices, from laptops to smartphones and tablets. Navigation tiles are placed at the top of every page, allowing users to easily navigate the site. This feature, according to the design team, creates a 'flow experience' for the user.
The project, which began in July 2018 and launched in September 2018 in Budapest, Hungary, required extensive research and analysis of web design trends. The team also conducted several usability tests and held continuous consultations with the client to ensure that the final product was both easy to use and visually appealing.
Despite the challenges, including the creation of a consistent and systematic design pattern for every page, the team's efforts paid off. The Elte Btk Hok project not only won the Silver A' Design Award but also successfully represented the values of Eotvos Lorand University's Faculty of Liberal Arts, Students Union, through a unique and user-friendly digital identity.
