Zero Pet Club: Redefining Pet Spaces with Exquisite Design

Yijie Chen's Award-Winning Design Transforms Pet Shops into Social Life Clubs

Yijie Chen's Zero Pet Club, a unique pet shop design, breaks away from the traditional mold, offering a fresh perspective on pet spaces. This innovative design, which won the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020, is more than a pet shop - it's a social life club.

Yijie Chen's inspiration for the Zero Pet Club came from a desire to create a pet shop that was "exquisite and beautiful". The designer used minimalism design techniques and a palette of white, wood, glass, and rolled steel to create a space that stands out in a city of tall buildings. The design is a breath of fresh air, breaking away from the crowded and poorly ventilated interiors of common pet shops.

The Zero Pet Club is not just a place to buy pet products. It's a space where pets' behavior is corrected, and a range of pet-related services are offered, including travel, insurance, and portrait services. The aim is to bring humans and their pets closer together and facilitate better communication. At first glance, one might mistake it for a bookstore or coffee bar, highlighting its unique appeal.

The design of the Zero Pet Club is realized using PanDomo, terrazzo, stainless steel plate, and wood finish. These materials, combined with the use of white and wood, give the shop a warm and exquisite feel. The shop covers a total of 487 square meters, with pet rest rooms separated by logs and glass, and numbered for easy management. Mobile seating allows owners to sit and communicate with their pets without disturbing other guests.

The design process was not without its challenges. The cat playing area, for example, had to be designed in a way that was fun for the cats but didn't take up too much space. The result is a natural-style adventure park with air ladders and cat climbs. The open facade and entrance design is like a silent invitation, drawing people's attention to the interior of the shop.

In conclusion, Yijie Chen's Zero Pet Club is a testament to the power of innovative design. It's a pet shop that breaks away from the norm, offering a unique space for pets and their owners to interact and bond. The design, which won the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020, is a shining example of how design can transform everyday spaces into something extraordinary.
