Moonlit Garden Wuxi: A Fusion of Japanese Aesthetics and Chinese Culture

Prism Design's Award-Winning Sales Center: A Modern Interpretation of Traditional Elements

In the bustling city of Wuxi, China, a unique architectural marvel stands as a testament to the fusion of Japanese aesthetics and Chinese culture. The Moonlit Garden Wuxi, a sales center designed by Prism Design, is a captivating blend of traditional elements and modern design, earning it the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in 2016.

The inspiration for the Moonlit Garden Wuxi came from the rich cultural heritage of Wuxi, which is known for its cloth, iron, bamboo, and Taihu Lake stone. Prism Design sought to incorporate these elements into the design, creating a space that reflects the city's historical background while also bringing a sense of Japanese aesthetics. The result is a unique architectural bond that offers an interactive exhibit space for users.

The design of the Moonlit Garden Wuxi is characterized by its innovative use of space and materials. The entrance passage, for instance, uses infinite reflection through mirrors to represent the infinity of a bamboo forest. The ground floor, on the other hand, uses regional materials to represent Wuxi's historical background. The underground floor features an artificial greening ceiling, a creative solution to the Fire Service Act issue.

The Moonlit Garden Wuxi is not just an architectural masterpiece, but also a functional space. With a main corridor part of 20 meters, a width of 1.8 meters, and a height of 3 meters, the entrance passage offers ample space for movement. The main sales center, spread over two floors, provides a total of 1200 square meters of space.

One of the key challenges faced by Prism Design in creating the Moonlit Garden Wuxi was understanding the preferences of the users of Wuxi, grasping sales operations, and considering the environment. To overcome these challenges, the design team selected specialty materials from the region, created an efficient operation flow line, and cooperated with a local Design Institute.

In conclusion, the Moonlit Garden Wuxi is a testament to the creative genius of Prism Design. It is a perfect blend of traditional elements and modern design, creating a space that is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing. It is a shining example of how architecture can serve as a bridge between cultures, bringing together the best of Japanese aesthetics and Chinese culture.
