Breaking Stereotypes with a Powerful Queen Image in Health Products

Green Gold's Queen Turmeric, a brand design project, breaks away from traditional health product imagery by incorporating elements of chess and wine. This unique approach has earned the design a Silver A' Design Award in 2020.

The inspiration behind Queen Turmeric lies in the contrasting colors of chess and wine. The gold, black, and silver on a chessboard, coupled with the powerful image of a queen, have been masterfully brought into the design. The result is a noble, commanding image that resonates with the brand's mission to empower women in their health journey.

Green Gold, a company that serves health and women's fashion, has successfully detached from the traditional image of health products. The design team, led by Che yu Lin, has created a visual representation of women dominating their health, akin to queens in chess. The unique properties of this design lie in its ability to challenge and redefine market concepts and established impressions.

The realization of this design involved low-light technology combined with a fog machine and several stage lights to create the desired light effects. The team used a Canon 5D Mark III camera with 125mm lenses for depth of field shooting. The post-production of the photos was done on Photoshop and Lightroom.

The design was initiated in Taipei city on June 20, 2019, and completed in Taichung city on August 1, 2019. It was then displayed on Green Gold's official website. The online platform has been instrumental in conveying the high-level and dignified sense of the product to a wider audience.

Before the design process, the team conducted extensive research on chess culture and color matching. They also considered the color of alcoholic drinks, given the product's hangover function. The queen's clothing style and accessories were also studied, resulting in a product image that stands out in the market.

Queen Turmeric is a testament to Green Gold's innovative approach to design. It not only challenges traditional market concepts but also provides a fresh perspective on health products. The design's success is evident in its Silver A' Design Award, a recognition given to designs that showcase outstanding expertise and innovation.
