Cyan Valley: A Harmonious Blend of Design and Nature

Rui Ning and Zhou Cheng's Award-Winning Villa Design

In the heart of Dapeng, Shenzhen, where the natural treasure of Dapeng Bay resides, Rui Ning and Zhou Cheng have crafted a unique villa design that harmoniously blends with its surroundings. This design, named Cyan Valley, serves as a sales center on the eighth floor, offering a stunning view of one of the eight most beautiful coasts in China, as rated by China National Geographic.

The design team, led by Rui Ning and Zhou Cheng, took inspiration from the natural environment and the vastness of the sea. They adopted a minimalist approach, eschewing excessive design elements to create a space that reflects the purity and vastness of the sea. The team's people-oriented design concept brings a comfortable and warm atmosphere to the home, despite the lack of spacious areas for discussion and high floors.

The layout of the discussion area primarily uses compartments with a view of the sea, creating a sense of comfort and privacy. The design team employed French windows to ensure sufficient natural lighting, and used wood grid and mirror materials to partition the space. These elements, along with the introduction of a large number of natural materials, depict the colors of home.

The project, which spans 729 square meters, features wooden screens from the ground to the ceiling to indicate space division in the other lounge. The interior is contrasted by warm beige and wood colors, with various wood color layers used for furniture and walls. The carpet texture is as delicate as sea sand, and the interior is matched with wooden materials and natural greenery, further enhancing the sense of connection with nature.

The design team faced several challenges in creating this space. They used a seascape decorative painting to create a clean space atmosphere, and a large mirror surface to reflect the beautiful scenery and artwork. Another feature is the film and television hall, presented in a dark atmosphere. The interior is surrounded by black walls, and the wooden floor responds to the sea sand of the same color. When the lights are lit, it creates a sea of stars, allowing visitors to put aside the complexities of life and feel closer to nature and the sea.

This unique design, full of originality and natural charm, earned Rui Ning and Zhou Cheng the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. Cyan Valley is indeed a testament to the team's remarkable level of excellence and their ability to introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder through their design.
