Yorkshire Villa: A Masterpiece of Residential Design

Exploring the Unique Design of Yorkshire Villa by Kot Ge and LSDcasa

Yorkshire Villa, a residential house designed by Kot Ge and LSDcasa, is a testament to the balance between functionalism and aesthetics. Inspired by the daily activities that occur in a living room, the designers have created a space that is both practical and artistically pleasing. This article delves into the unique properties, realization technology, and design specifications of this award-winning design.

The design of Yorkshire Villa is rooted in the geographical characteristics of Chongqing. The designers have adopted a rational and groundbreaking design strategy to challenge the irrational and impossible. The result is an exquisite lifestyle that balances space resources and beautiful life. This balance is the unique property that sets Yorkshire Villa apart from other residential designs.

The realization of this design involved demolishing walls and opening up two villas. The designers embarked on an exciting adventure, breaking the box of space yet connecting each part within multiple restrictions. The combination of materials, colors, and blocks has resulted in an increasingly disorder space that is both intriguing and inviting.

Yorkshire Villa is a four-story duplex villa. The entrance is on the second floor, which links to the third floor, serving as a family living space. The ground floor connects the outdoor garden with the richest resources of the building, while the first basement offers a space for family entertainment. The design tags associated with this project include LSD, Open to the Sky, Create a sunken garden, and Inward life.

The design interaction of Yorkshire Villa is another aspect that deserves attention. A capacious and bright reception room is located straight into the porch, where a three-story plane perpendicular to the second-story is opened up. The opening of the skylight forms a six-meter duplex villa with great light intensity. Different perspectives on the second and third floors offer views of the glistening lakescape outside.

The project started in April 2019 and was completed in November 2019 in Chongqing. The design research focused on the natural texture of materials and restoring the sense of reality of living. The designers faced the challenge of allocating resources reasonably to achieve overall balance, given that only the first floor of the villa links to the outdoor resources.

Yorkshire Villa is a testament to the artistic taste and delicate atmosphere of modern urban life. It was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020, a prestigious accolade that recognizes top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs. The unique topographical conditions of Chongqing and the strong feelings of Plebeian growing here have become the starting point of this design.
