The Heaven Villa: A Unique Blend of Classic and Modern Design

Residential Design by Yu Ju Lin

Inspired by the desire to create a harmonious blend of classical and modern design, Yu Ju Lin's The Heaven Villa showcases a unique combination of stone and elegant woods. With its dark color tone and innovative use of materials, this residential design stands out from the crowd.

Bending the boundaries of traditional and contemporary styles, The Heaven Villa utilizes a variety of stones and exquisite woods to create a distinctively dark aesthetic that sets it apart from conventional home designs. The dreamy texture of the stone serves as a subtle hint, establishing contextual connections with other materials throughout the public and private areas, pushing the boundaries of stone's performance and transforming the aesthetics of everyday life into extraordinary details.

Echoing the spirit of environmental protection, the majority of the stone used in The Heaven Villa is repurposed from factory leftovers. The design team employs various collage methods to create a visually stunning space. The splashed ink stone acts as a connection between the TV wall and the open dining room, while the floor features a geometric collage of fish and white stone remnants. In the dining room cabinet, the original red-green dragon-phoenix stone takes center stage, adding a touch of elegance.

The design team skillfully utilizes materials to differentiate and integrate different areas of the space. The living room and entrance walls extend seamlessly through the use of the same stone and carbonized wood, maintaining the overall outline of the public domain. Strip lights are strategically placed to draw focus in the dark atmosphere. The island dining space incorporates a mirror ceiling, creating a suggestive spatial partition and providing a heightened visual experience.

The Heaven Villa is a testament to the design team's meticulous attention to detail. The fishbone collage technique is employed in the living room, dining room, and study room floors, creating a cohesive and visually striking design. Galvanized reflecting railway bricks are used to create blocks of different materials under the beam, resulting in a bathroom space that exudes classical luxury and technological sophistication.

Completed in August 2019 in Taipei, Taiwan, The Heaven Villa was a project that started from scratch. The design team's extensive research and understanding of the client's preferences for classical and modern contrast styles led to the use of elegant stone and carbonized wood with a special dark color tone. Through the combination of collage, mosaic, and various materials, the design team has created a beautiful and practical home that perfectly meets the client's needs.

One of the highlights of The Heaven Villa is its ability to seamlessly integrate storage and display spaces for the client's extensive collection. By customizing the space to align with the client's living habits, such as incorporating a dressing room for both male and female occupants and a compartment for pets under the stairs, the design team has created a user-friendly and personalized environment. The clever use of an H steel beam to create a platform further enhances the functionality of the space.

The Heaven Villa is a testament to Yu Ju Lin's ability to combine classical and modern design elements in a seamless and visually stunning manner. By utilizing a variety of materials, including marble, carbonized steel brushed wood, and mosaic light bars or copper bars, the design team has successfully created a space that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The intricate use of different stone textures, such as white fish, dragon and phoenix, and splash ink, adds depth and character to each area, while the overall dark color tone ties everything together, resulting in a truly tasteful residence.

The Heaven Villa has been recognized for its exceptional design and innovation, receiving the Iron A' Design Award in 2020. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that demonstrate a high level of practicality, innovation, and adherence to professional and industrial standards. The Heaven Villa's integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics contribute to a better world, providing fulfillment and positive experiences for its occupants.
