Mo's inspiration for "On Italian Arts" stemmed from a six-month study and investigation in Italy, where he was fascinated by the rich history and profound culture of Etruria town. The town's millennium-long history, filled with ups and downs, resonated with Mo, reminding him of the tenderness and gentleness often portrayed in traditional Chinese opera performances.

What sets "On Italian Arts" apart from other books is Mo's innovative approach to presenting Italy's Etruscan culture. After attending art classes at the University of Florence and the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence, Mo visited over 50 distinctive towns and more than 200 churches and museums in Italy.
