On Italian Arts: A Unique Fusion of Eastern and Western Culture

Junhua Mo's Award-Winning Book Brings Italy's Etruscan Culture to Life Through Chinese Ink Paintings

Junhua Mo, a seasoned designer, has created a unique masterpiece, "On Italian Arts," that beautifully encapsulates the essence of Italy's Etruscan culture. This book, a Silver A' Design Award winner, is a testament to the power of art and design in bridging cultural gaps and fostering understanding.

Mo's inspiration for "On Italian Arts" stemmed from a six-month study and investigation in Italy, where he was fascinated by the rich history and profound culture of Etruria town. The town's millennium-long history, filled with ups and downs, resonated with Mo, reminding him of the tenderness and gentleness often portrayed in traditional Chinese opera performances.

What sets "On Italian Arts" apart from other books is Mo's innovative approach to presenting Italy's Etruscan culture. After attending art classes at the University of Florence and the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence, Mo visited over 50 distinctive towns and more than 200 churches and museums in Italy. Through these experiences, he constructed an art schema of the Etruscan cultural towns, ultimately recreating the impression of Italy through Chinese ink paintings.

The book's realization technology is another aspect that adds to its uniqueness. It uses art paper and five-color printing, including four-color printing and spot color gold printing. The book is a 16mo size, contains 210 thousand words, and spans 414 pages. It is a testament to Mo's meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Mo's book is not just a product of his creativity and artistic prowess. It is also a result of extensive research and a deep understanding of both Italian and Chinese cultures. He believes that only by slowing down and immersing oneself in the culture can one truly understand and appreciate it. This philosophy is evident in his book, which serves as a bridge between eastern and western cultures.

Creating "On Italian Arts" was not without its challenges. Mo had to make a breakthrough in Kant’s theory of priori concepts and practice Piaget’s theory of cognitive development to build a well-ordered perception of the cultural towns. However, his efforts paid off, as evidenced by the book's Silver A' Design Award, a testament to its creativity, technical excellence, and artistic skill.

In conclusion, "On Italian Arts" is a unique fusion of eastern and western cultures, a testament to the power of art and design in fostering understanding and bridging cultural gaps. It is a masterpiece that showcases Junhua Mo's creativity, artistic prowess, and commitment to promoting cultural understanding.
