Revolutionizing Cannabis Products: The Secret Tarts

The Secret Tarts are cannabis-infused chewing pills, housed in an aluminum can and packed in a carton box. The design is a fusion of old-school packaging aesthetics and modern product recognition. The layout's key elements, engraved fruit images, and font selection have been meticulously integrated to form a holistic structure that is both retro-styled and modern.

The unique properties of the design lie in its visual structure hierarchy. The texts and illustrative elements are flawlessly linked together, conveying the main marketing point: these pills are developed by a pharmacist craft-professional company and contain a hand-made recipe. The packaging design consists of a round label stuck to the aluminum can and the carton box layout, created using Adobe software for correct layouts printing on coated and non-coated materials.

The design process was based on a team-framework named "AntHill", where all team members worked simultaneously on each layout and image. After several iterations and detailed client feedback, the most successful version was chosen and polished to be holistic and understandable at first glance.

The main challenge was to create a truly outstanding packaging to stand out in the competitive US cannabis-infused products market. The Secret Tarps packaging, made in the so-called modernized retro/vintage style, gives a feeling of old-school notes so a master-pharmacist touch anticipation holds the customer from the first glance and later while the detailed observation of principal design elements.

While the design was developed over two months in 2019, it has already garnered recognition. The Secret Tarts design was awarded the Golden A' Packaging Design Award in 2020, granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom. It is a testament to GarryVeda Design Bureau's ability to create venerated products and bright ideas that advance art, science, design, and technology.
