Residential Design with an Extension Blank

An Innovative Living Space by Zhen-Xi Pang and Yun-Ting Wu

A place of living should have an appropriate blank for an extension. This house of four is a haven for reading, tea ceremonies, and music devotion. The interior blank is an extension of the design concept of the residential quarter, seamlessly blending beautiful sunshine and tranquility into this unit. The key element of this space is the tatami room, which connects the dining room and living room with a glass folding door and a low-height table. This design choice not only enhances the sense of openness but also provides a fresh visual experience and a deeper connection to the owner's living observation. The result is a dynamic and harmonious living space.

The realization of this design involved the use of marble sheet block flooring, glass folding doors, low-height tables, and stainless steel elements, among others. The combination of these materials and technologies brings the designer's vision to life, creating a space that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
