The design of Chic HK 2020 was a testament to the creativity and innovation of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. The event featured a 9000sqm exhibition area spread over two floors, providing ample space for the participating companies to showcase their products and services. The exterior of the venue was adorned with a striking 17m wide by 27m high graphic sticker displaying the Chic HK logo, creating a captivating first impression for visitors.
Inside the venue, a 3D welcome backdrop measuring 12m wide by 4.5m high served as a photo opportunity for attendees, inviting them to capture their experience at Chic HK 2020. The exhibition hall featured a 40m long corridor adorned with hanging LED units, creating a transformative spatial and visual experience for visitors. The LED units emitted graphic images, adding an element of dynamism and interactivity to the event.
The exhibition booths, constructed with metal frames and finished with spray paint or wooden slats, provided a platform for the Hong Kong companies to showcase their products and engage with potential customers. The booths were strategically color-coded, indicating the various lifestyle sectors represented at the event. LED lights and acrylic lettering further enhanced the visual appeal of the booths, creating an immersive and captivating environment.
Chic HK 2020 was a result of extensive research and careful consideration of the Guangzhou consumer market. The design team analyzed the unique aspects of Hong Kong culture and sought to convey its distinctiveness through the fusion of traditional and simplified Chinese characters. This new typography not only added a cultural touch to the event but also served as a refreshing twist, capturing the attention of visitors and conveying the idea of familiarity.
The integration of primary colors into the event visuals not only made them visually striking but also helped categorize the different lifestyle sectors represented at Chic HK 2020. The use of primary colors added vibrancy and energy to the overall design, reflecting the dynamic nature of Hong Kong's lifestyle brands.
Chic HK 2020 was a resounding success, attracting visitors from Guangzhou and beyond. The event provided a platform for Hong Kong companies to gain brand awareness and test the local consumer market. By highlighting the unique culture and design of Hong Kong, Chic HK 2020 showcased the city as a vibrant and innovative lifestyle hub.
In recognition of its outstanding design and execution, Chic HK 2020 was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Event and Happening Design category in 2021. This prestigious award acknowledges the event's well-designed, practical, and innovative approach, meeting professional and industrial requirements. Chic HK 2020's integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics contributed to a better world, providing fulfillment and positive experiences for visitors.
