Reviving Ancient Grandeur: Eco Smart City Sales Centre

Yipai Decoration Co.,Ltd. Merges Tradition and Innovation in Award-Winning Design

The Eco Smart City Sales Centre, located in Hu Nan, China, draws its inspiration from the grand mansions of ancient times. The design team, led by WenJuan Duan, FuMing Zheng, and JingZhou, utilized the three-courtyard system to create a spatial dimension that effectively differentiates visions and functions. The theme of Peach Blossom Spring is employed to imbue the modern building with a profound cultural heritage.

One of the unique features of this project is the use of the Guest-Greeting Pine landscape rockeries to express the space theme of "welcome". The designers skillfully employed the view borrowing technique of ancient gardens to create a layered effect of separation and connection between the front and back spaces.

The Eco Smart City Sales Centre is not only a marvel of design but also a testament to sustainable practices. The entire space is illuminated with energy-saving LED lamps, which adjust the illuminance index according to the environment and control the light sources by areas, thus conserving energy. Furthermore, the furniture is made of solid wood with natural marble tabletops, ensuring an environment free of formaldehyde and promoting good health.

The project, completed in August 2018, faced the challenge of transitioning from a building sales center to a reception center in the city's largest central parks. The design team overcame this by incorporating elements that would accommodate public visits, such as decorative peach trees made from scrap irons that lead visitors to the city memory hall.

The designers also went the extra mile by personally touring Changde to collect paintings, calligraphies, and works of art from the Ming and Qing dynasties. These were sealed with the special wire super long art glass technology, further enhancing the cultural depth of the space.

In conclusion, the Eco Smart City Sales Centre is a shining example of how design can bridge the gap between the past and the present.
